The Betsy Hotel
A historic landmark, The Betsy is a family-owned, luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of South Beach’s Ocean Drive. The storied property also boasts a café, the Carlton Room, and two restaurants, The Alley and LT Steak & Seafood.
With a newly finished renovation, property expansion, and an award-winning line-up of dining and entertainment options, the last piece of the puzzle was creating a unified approach to design, strategy, marketing, and production that could speak to the local patrons and international guests alike.

We put together a takeout packaging program to accent The Betsy's dining and café options, LT Steak and Seafood, The Alley, and The Carlton Room Café. A holistic approach was taken, weaving together the hotel’s elegant typography and inviting color palette.
“Dog-friendly” hotels are becoming more common across the hospitality industry. At The Betsy, dogs are welcome “guests” and the owner’s pets, Betsy and Rosa, are the mascots of the property. So we decided to bring these two into an even bigger role with whimsical dog illustrations throughout the collateral, like on the deli paper, takeout bags, and letterpress printed labels.
To bring the menus up-to-date with the new design approach, we collaborated with the Head Chef and the Manager of the Food & Beverage program to rethink the layout and even come up with new menu titles and categories.
Social Media Design and Animation

A luxury boutique hotel – with thoughtful amenities and extraordinary service – The Betsy has long been considered a cultural mainstay on the Miami music and arts scene. Our approach to design and marketing needed to be a natural extension of that rich heritage.
We designed the social media graphics for the hotel restaurants, including event promotions, animations, contests, hotel playlists, and new food menu items–all with a neighborhood feel, and plenty of opportunities for patrons and future guests to connect. The Betsy appeals to the local community and to out-of-town guests so all of the collateral has to communicate to those two audiences.
Digital Marketing Design and Strategy

Unique collateral is crucial when developing the strategy and branding for a boutique hotel. Other deliverables included monthly newsletters and an email campaign strategy designed to keep locals coming night after night while providing national and international guests with engaging programming to look forward to during their stay. Email subject lines were a/b tested in order to deliver the most impactful language based on specific data.
Wayfinding and Signage Design

To bring the refreshed branding to life across the property, we designed announcements for the digital signs, along with digital menu boards for The Carlton Room Café on Collins Avenue. Tabletop signs were also created for different locations including The Concierge, Front Desk, and LT Steak & Seafood dining tables.
Guests also enjoy Coffee Kits, which can be ordered via room service, complete with a tray liner showcasing illustrated instructions on how guests can brew their locally roasted Panther Coffee.
